HUJAN in Kuching!![Exclusive News]

We had the chance not only to interview, but ‘makan malam’ with Hujan. Lol! I’m kind of a big fan of Hujan. Everything seems to be “Mena ndak tok kah?” *Tarit pipi belah kerek & kanan. Is it real??

So what’s up? First, RDZ, Mudin and I went to snap photos of Hujan doing their soundcheck. We are very LUCKY as we had the access into the place. The guard asked “Where are you guys from?” , I just answered with ‘muka sardin’ look on my face–>> “ilovekuching.com”, Lol, macamlah nya tauk, I think the guard is not into internet. He seems like he doesn’t even have a Friendster account. Hehe~ But thanks, we had the access!
Here’s the photo of HUJAN doing their sound check and hundreds of people who were standing outside to watch. Gila dowh. Noh angkat tangan lambei-lambei jak suma nerais.

Okay, he sure can make jokes on stage. Both me and RDZ enjoyed the sound check.
This is what I'm talking about. It's full of girls out there!
Then after the soundcheck, we went to get our dinner at Ayam Penyet. Oh, nait value Ayam penyet, hehe. We combined three tables and enjoyed the dinner till late. At that moment, we communicated with the band members starting with Am, then A.G. and finally Jaja, the new bassist for Hujan.

I was shocked, it was a million miles away different from what the anti-Hujan and some sort of so called media that states–>>Hujan is sombong, Hujan is demanding, Hujan itu, Hujan ini, Hujan ya, Hujan tok… I don’t understand them. As we talked and we had our chit-chat session, the more I notice that these people (Hujan’s band members) are actually very friendly people. Seriously dude!

Finally, the interview. We have prepared 5 questions for Hujan. Most of it were light question coz we’re not the typical tabloid which are full of ‘pengorek rahsia’ reporters. The location of the interview is at the hotel where Hujan stayed for their three days in Kuching. Noh decided that we chill at the pool side.
I started it with Noh Hujan. He’s the only guy in this world I knew who has a very weird haircut, but indeed very stylish and attractive. The haircut is the trend for the youngsters nowadays. Even when you have your ‘jalan-jalan’ at the city center, you can see a lot of kids who wants this hair cut. So, we asked him this question:
“Where did you get the haircut from?”

Noh:
“The Changcuters” <<–Sorry, I really can’t spell it! So Noh was turned on with their hairstyle and dress up. Everything from skinny jeans and stuff. It’s kind of ’stylo bah’. Hehe. Plus I like Alda Changcuters’ hair!

Few weeks ago, I was shocked when I read one of the local newspaper that Dukegong is no more with Hujan. Indeed. He was replaced by a guy name Jaja. At that time I was like “Aih, who’s this Jaja guy?” So Noh, told us about it.
“Tell us about Hujan’s bassist from the beginning.”
Noh:
Gitok ceritanya…
Dimas was our first bassist in Hujan. He was a good bassist but unfortunately, Dimas’ dad had called him to go back to Bandung, Indonesia on August 2007. In the same time, Dukegong was A.G’s housemate. Shit happened when Dukegong lost the motorbike of A.G’s mom. So Dukegong had to pay back using 50% from show pays to pay back the bike. (Noh laughing) So Duke plays with us as a session bassist.

But due to ‘internal issues’ among Hujan themselves, Noh desperately had to replace Dukegong with other bassist. At mean time, Dukegong is also playing for Republic of Brickfields(Aru Koffin Kanser) and also with a metal band called Black Leaf.

So now, we have Jaja in Hujan. He’s our permanent bassist. Insya-Allah if nothing bad happens, we hope that he will stay with us. Plus, he is very good when it comes to the bass.
“So how come Jaja?”
Noh:
A friend of mine moderates a musician forum which is Jamtank.com So at that time, he’s like helping us by placing ads on the forum which sound like this; ‘Seeking permanent bassist for HUJAN’. So one of them whom submitted and gave it a try to be Hujan’s bassist was Jaja. So, we communicated through YM (Yahoo Messenger) and during that time, I was in Sarawak. But then A.G was in K.L. So, Jaja had to get through A.G for the audition. A.G was surprisedd with Jaja’s performance that he told me this:
“Noh, aku bagitau kau si Jaja tu, selamber je dia. Slapping macam giler!”
“And how do you feel Jaja?”
Jaja:
I’m like “Betul ke dia orang nie?” Obviously, I’m very happy. But I can’t make the confirmation at first. Until the time that Noh introduced me to the other members and crew. Then, I knew that I was officially Hujan’s band member.

Noh:
Hujan came to this level so fast. Too fast. Even I have never expected that Hujan can go this far within two years. Honestly, we had never thought of chasing fame in this music industry. We just wanna have fun playing music. Hujan faced the painful period. No one knows that Hujan played without any payment for almost 6 months. Fortunately I was working as an assistant at a music studio to feed myself.
Today Hujan is an icon, two years back they are no-body.
We had the experience of being payed for only RM100 for a show. Try to put yourself in our shoes, RM100, divide it for 4 persons. Come on, it’s 25 ringgit for each person. But we understand our value at that point of time. Now, some of them said Hujan starts to demand. You have to be rational, we have to feed ourselves. We are full time musicians. Organizers have to understand our value. Last two years and now is totally different.

Hujan went for a show in Penang. At that time, we had to cover everything from place to stay, petrol, food and everything using our own pocket money. Plus, the organizer didn’t even pay us even a single cent. Band nowadays have to understand that to go to the higher level, it’s not easy, but it is possible.

We want to thank RAINGERS for supporting us since day one. To the bands who want to be successful in the industry, be yourself. Don’t keep the barrier limits your creativity. Stop the bull shit of being to obsessed with the underground ideology. Mainstream and Underground is the same coz it is in the music arena. Peace!

Di suatu pagi ahad yang indah di Damai puri resort.. Ibuku diserang serangan jantung.. Ondaway dari damai puri ke hospital normah.. TIba2 lam radio kluar lagu HUJAN, bila aku sudah tiada… cun giler
Time sampe kt Normah, hanya Allah swt saja yg tahu betapa merontanya Jiwa apabila doktor berkata “im sorry, shes gone”.. huhuhu~
To Hujan, mun sikda lagu ya maka sikdala kenangan i dgn ibu i di saat2 akhir.. atleast ada lagu pake flashback.. TQ2!!!..sob2 -al fatihah kepada almarhummah ibuku Dayang Norliah-
